There are weddings that feel beautiful, and then there are weddings that feel entirely immersive, where every detail, every moment, every emotion is designed not only to be seen, but deeply felt. Mimi and Ben’s three-day celebration at Hollywell Hall was exactly that: a quintessentially English wedding weekend set against the rolling countryside, filled with warmth, intention, and an unmistakable sense of togetherness.
Planned impeccably by Katrina Otter and beautifully captured by photographer Katie Julia, every part of the celebration unfolded with effortless elegance. From intimate family moments to sweeping scenes beneath the English summer sky, the entire weekend felt timeless in every possible way.
The celebrations began with a welcome reception thoughtfully designed to feel both intentional and effortlessly inviting, an intimate gathering for their nearest and dearest. Guests arrived to beautifully curated welcome baskets, each one filled with treats chosen especially for the weekend alongside handwritten letters from Mimi and Ben to every guest. It was such a touching and deeply personal gesture, setting the tone for what the days ahead would become: meaningful, heartfelt, and entirely centred around the people they love most.
As the evening unfolded, guests made their way into the rose-filled walled garden at Hollywell Hall where a long family-style feast was served beneath the venue’s iconic hornbeam arches. The atmosphere was relaxed yet refined, filled with candlelight, conversation, and the unmistakable magic of an English summer evening. Every part of the dining experience had been curated around Mimi and Ben’s favourite things, including desserts shipped in from one of their favourite London spots for guests to enjoy, a detail that felt wonderfully personal and entirely them.
The wedding day itself began quietly and intimately with a private civil ceremony attended only by Mimi, Ben, their parents, and siblings. Held in the morning light, the ceremony felt deeply emotional in its simplicity. Mimi walked barefoot in a gown designed by her own sister, Celeste Bouchard, creating one of the most moving and memorable moments of the entire weekend. There was something truly magical about the stillness of it all, everyone fully present, completely immersed in the significance of the moment. It was so beautifully understated.
Later that afternoon, guests gathered in the gardens for the main ceremony, led beautifully by a close family friend whilst one of the couple’s favourite musicians played softly amongst the grounds. The ceremony itself felt cinematic yet deeply personal, personalised vows, bespoke musical compositions, and sweeping moments of grandeur set against the beautiful English countryside weather. Every detail felt intentionally considered, creating a celebration that was designed to be experienced emotionally as much as visually.
The ceremony space was adorned with the most exquisite floral design by Dreamboats and Carousels. A palette of creamy whites, lime greens, and dusky antique pinks brought an ethereal softness to the day, perfectly complimenting the timeless surroundings of Hollywell Hall. The floral installation transformed the gardens into something impossibly romantic while still feeling entirely natural to the setting.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a champagne drinks reception in the sunshine complete with an oyster shucker, creating the most quintessentially English countryside atmosphere. Laughter echoed across the gardens as guests mingled beneath the warm afternoon light before making their way into the Sperry tent reception, where the timeless aesthetic of the ceremony continued seamlessly into the evening celebrations.
Throughout the day, Mimi Bouchard wore three entirely divine bridal looks by Monique LHuillier, Sept New York, and her sister, Celeste Bouchard. Each look felt effortlessly reflective of a different part of the day, but all equally mesmerising.
As night fell, the celebrations continued beneath the stars inside the Sperry tent, where guests danced late into the evening surrounded by candlelight, music, and endless joy. Smiles filled every corner of the reception and the love in the room felt truly contagious. Watching Mimi and Ben soak in every second together, fully present, completely immersed in the people and moments around them, was perhaps the most beautiful part of all.
It was a wedding weekend rooted in intention, emotion, and connection. A celebration that perfectly balanced grandeur with intimacy, elegance with warmth, and timeless English romance with deeply personal storytelling. One I was truly honoured to capture. A truly unforgettable few days in the English countryside at Hollywell Hall.
